Situated in the heart of South Iceland, the waterfall Seljalandsfoss flows from the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier before dropping 60m. Seljalandsfoss is famous for having a small hiking path behind the falls where visitors can get a 360° view of the magnificent falls.
A short walk further along the base of the cliffs will bring you to the lesser-known Gljúfrabúi waterfall. Be prepared to get wet as you venture inside the canyon to view the waterfall from below or climb the small crag above the waterfall.
Caution must be exercised in winter months as the spray from these waterfalls can create very icy conditions.
