Join the ultimate Ice Cave and Northern Lights Experience where you will be in for a very long but breathtaking day, enjoying the ride in a comfortable luxury mini-bus or jeep as well as seeing the best highlights of the South Coast.
After being picked up in the morning, you will board a large but comfortable jeep or a minibus and head to Iceland's South Coast.
Your first stop is Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where you will see icebergs floating serenely on the freezing water and possibly a seal or two. Close by is the Diamond beach where icebergs sit on the black sand, glowing like crystals in the sunlight. Truly an amazing sight
Afterwards, you will be driven through rugged Icelandic terrain to the Ice Cave. Here, a local guide will provide you with safety gear, such as crampons and a helmet, as well as lights before you enter the ice cave itself.
The ice caves are a natural phenomenon and thus follow the rules of Mother Nature.
Your final scheduled stop is at the waterfall Seljalandsfoss where you can walk behind the cascading water. During the winter months, the waterfall is lit up which provides excellent photo opportunities.
The final highlight of the day is the Northern Lights. If the dancing Auroras haven't made an appearance on your tour, and if the skies are clear, you will take a little detour on the way back to Reykjavík where your guide will hunt down these elusive lights.
You can expect the tour to take 14-16 hours, so we recommend bringing snacks for the ride, but you can also purchase something along the way as the driver will be making short stops during the tour at service stations.
