Explore South Iceland Tour By Quad Bike

ATV/Quad biking is a great way to explore the raw black sandy beaches on the South Coast. After being picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík, you will head towards the quad biking operations base; this is where the adventure really begins!

There, you will meet your friendly and experienced quad biking guide who will provide a briefing on the tour ahead, as well as provide you with all of the necessary riding gear, including balaclavas, gloves and helmets. Remember, it is important to bring your full international driver's license, otherwise, you will not be permitted to operate the bike yourself (you may still ride as a passenger.)

Soon, you will begin your ride through small rivers and streams, across lush hillsides and rocky back trails towards your destination, the black sand beaches of the South Coast. After an exciting, rip-roaring ride on this sublime black beach, you will make a stop at the photogenic DC plane wreck, admiring the amazing views from Mýrdalsjökull to Dyrhólaey, the southernmost point of Iceland. This plane wreck makes for excellent photographs, having crashed here in 1973—thankfully, there were no casualties!

When these beautiful sights have sunk in, you will continue to the river Jökulsá, following the running water up to the foot of Mt. Heiðarhorn. The mountain itself is dramatic and instantly recognisable, given its sharp white peak. From Heiðarhorn, we will make the picturesque return journey back to our quad biking base.
